I saw a terrific film at Full Frame with local ties.  Raising Renee is an engrossing documentary about nationally acclaimed artist Beverly McIver (a Greensboro native) and her experiences taking care of her mentally disabled older sister after their mother dies.

I’ll post again in the fall when the doc will air on HBO.  This is the type of personal story I particularly enjoy watching as it unfolds organically.
