Saturday I watched the first episode of House of Cards, the series streaming live on Netflix.  It’s a big dollar series to rival those of subscription services like HBO and Showtime.  David Fincher directed the first episode, which stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright.  

I found it heavy on the narration but promising.  Will report back when I’ve seen all the episodes.  What is most interesting, though, is the platform.  Many of us dive into an entire season of a series on Netflix after its initial run, but this time we don’t have to wait.

It’s appealing how having that type of access to a series changes the power balance and has the potential to tip windows and platforms.  Stay tuned…
